President Mnangagwa runs out of promises during his recent rally whilst unveiling the reasons behind poor service delivery within opposition stronghold communities and institutes headed by the opposition. In his words “Schools cannot be built by opposition party but by Zanu Pf , Hospitals cannot be constructed by other party’s except Zanu PF ,Road rehabilitation and infrastructure development ca n only be a success in the hands of Zanu PF government, every socio-economic development needs and services can only be attained in the hands of Zanu Pf”
A brief assessment of Zanu achievements in line with His Excellency words posits Zanu Pf leader as either ignorant or deceitful. 40 years after independence Zimbabwe had run down the drain from a country which was ahead of Japan in terms GDP to a country competing with nations such Haiti on economic development. The construction of Schools remains an outspoken agenda which Zanu Pf has used in the past campaigns only for the electorate to regret their choices as remote communities continue to be marginalise and in communities close to the centre of attention, unprecedented and unjustified fees hikes has denied most students the opportunity to attain a basic education.
The status of roads in Urban Communities is clear evidence on how Zanu Pf elites have lost touch with the low-base communities. Surprisingly E.D promised the Binga Community standards roads , it economically a fuss given the most business active areas within Harare who pay huge taxes to ensure such service haven’t seen them in a decade , yet a community which has less business activities and low contribution to the national income is lined up for standardised roads.
In his speech, the poor service delivery within most municipalities and local governance sub structures which are headed by the opposition party is as a result of political sabotage. Lack of renovation and upgrade to existing machines is a deliberate action by Zanu Pf to push the Opposition out of power. Indeed cities such as Chitungwiza, Kuwadzana, and Mabvuku among others have poor road facilities, scarce of clean and safe water .The political madness and assassination of character from Zanu Pf camp is immense and dedicated to outwit opposition party control on Local Governance structures.
Opposition parties have to invest much of their time in remote areas were citizens are sympathetic whenever the issue of liberation struggle is raised by Zanu Pf which gives Zanu Pf an upper hand on emotionally driven number of votes in their favour. The agenda of 2nd independence has to addressed on all platforms to liberate communities and raise Zimbabwe to the ranks it deserves as a House of Stone ( Dzimba Dzemabwe)
